[honestly, after all of that, Makoto is ready to plot for what to do for the next day. It's a perfect chance to grab her and yell at her.]

[ Well, here's Vanitas! He's still... soaking wet, but he's walking right up to her, stopping maybe just a couple of feet away.

One hand is curled into a fist as he just. Stares her down for now. Clearly, words are not wanting to come to him - or maybe he's still conflicted. Either way...... ]

[she already knows that means no good. But she's good at neutral facing her way through anger, and she knows that for now... working together isn't an option. She doesn't even have to blackmail her way to that much.] Vanitas-san. Do you want to discuss what we've found?

[ His jawline is briefly tightening, first. ]

I want to discuss how just- looking at you pisses me off. [ fist briefly trembling ] How it's just a constant reminder that the idiot's gone. That he's not only a liar, but selfish.

[ Suddenly, he falters - like he's... actually unsure of what he's saying? It's not overtly so, either way, but he does go quiet for a moment. His lips press together as he discreetly takes in a deep, faintly unsteady breath.

She doesn't quite look struck, but it's obvious that she's maintaining a neutral face, and she takes a shaky breath.] I wouldn't have agreed if I thought he was just doing this to save me, Vanitas-san. I wouldn't have done this if it were just about the game. I understand-- if you hate me for doing that, and then agreeing to this, I understand. [she folds her hands in front of her and offers a deep bow] I'm very sorry. But please, at least let's work together to get out of here.
