[As much as she'd like to scream, to break down and accuse her of betraying her trust...the Barghest is untouchable. For now. She'd only be hurting Makoto in the process, too. Her expression hardens as she stares at Makoto--no, the Barghest, placing as much fury behind her gaze as possible.]

No. I'd started planning it before I realized my priorities were misguided. But if I had dropped it, I would've looked suspicious, and I really did want to avoid this.
[Ripley narrows her eyes and crosses her arms. She doesn't look satisfied with that, but she'll take it.]
What I don't understand is why you didn't attack Akira or...anyone else in that room. They were all right there--I passed out, I wouldn't have been any the wiser.
[Ripley lets out a frustrated growl. She opens her mouth to speak, then decides against it. She shakes her head, gripping her hands tighter around her arms.]

[As she speaks her voice rises in volume to the point that she's practically shouting, her face contorted into an expression of rage.
She hesitates for a moment, seemingly realizing what she's doing before letting out a frustrated yell, slamming her fist against the door. She turns to leave, her voice cold and contained yet again.]
[Ripley doesn't answer, though her shoulders visibly tense. She doesn't want to give the Bargest the satisfaction of answering.
She stalks out of the room, making sure to slam the door behind her. Sorry, Makoto. She's not being sympathetic towards any monsters, today, nor anytime in the future.]
